Garrett Finishes as Runner-Up at ICCAC Conference Tournament

The ICCAC hosted their first conference tournament this past weekend.

 

The Lakers saw plenty of success, with wins being earned by Kylie Hessenius, Holly Garrett, Riley Weiler, Hannah Baatz, Willow Stewart, and Keyahna Phillips.

The Team finished 5th out of the 7 teams.

 

Iowa Lakes also had two lakers finish with placements, Holly Garrett was the runner-up and Keyahna Phillips finished 4th.

 

"This was a great showing for us," Said Coach Corey Muniz, "We saw real tough competition and battled throughout the tournament. Getting all those matches throughout the day was a great precursor to what we are going to expect at the national tournament in a few weeks."

 

"It was great to see Key and Holly navagate through the tournament. It pushes our program forward to see continued success here at on the mat." Said Muniz about the success from the two placers.

 

The Lakers Women's Wrestling team will have three weeks to fine-tune their skills as the prepare for the NJCAA National Invite on the 7th and 8th of March.
