Women's Cross Country run tough at BVU Invitational

The men and women's cross country team traveled to Buena Vista University Saturday to run in the annual BVU Invitational. The women ran a 6k course that was relatively flat throughout the race. Sophomore Jadin Bezdicek led the way for the women for the fourth consecutive time finishing in a time of 31:49, which was good enough for 13th place. Sophomore Chelsea Cave was right behind Jadin finishing in a time of 32: 57 which placed her 15th.

Over on the men's side, sophomore Kameron Rohwedder was the lone runner. Kameron ran in his second 8k of the season and ran his best race all year. Kameron finished the 8k race in 32:07 which placed him 6th overall.

"It was a hot humid day for our runners today. Jadin and Chelsea really worked together throughout the course, but you could tell that the temperatures were really bothering them. They finished the race and competed as best as they could which is all that I can ask for. Kameron had a great day and was mentally focused to run today. He got out strong, maintained his pace and finished strong. He's obviously in better shape than he was a few weeks ago and it showed today. I was very proud and excited for Kameron's performance," commented Coach Bruce.

The cross country teams return to action on Saturday, October 7th when they travel to Briar Cliff University.
