Estherville, IA – The Iowa Lakes baseball team had a one game World Series on October 10th. The first pitch is scheduled to be thrown at 3:07 between Team Pavlovich and Team Hardegree at Hess-Limberg Field.

Team Hardegree put pressure on immediately out the gate by putting up two runs in the bottom of the first. It started off with a leadoff single by BJ Johnson and after a walk and a passed ball to advance the runners to second and third, Tavan Shahidi steps up and ropes a 2 RBI single up the middle.

Team Pavlovich answers back quickly with 2 runs to tie up the game in the top of the second with base hits from Jordan Deadwyler and Mikey Adams. Deadwyler lead off the inning with a base hit following up a double from Adams and scoring Deadwyler from first. Adams eventually scores after two consecutive groundouts.

Later in the game Team Hardegree adds another run in the fifth after a leadoff single and then stolen base by Bransen Peterson. Branson is stranded at second, but a costly throwing error caused him to score for Team Hardegree to take the lead 3-2.

In the bottom of the sixth Team Hardegree adds to their lead to make it 4-2 when a single by BJ Johnson is given up and then advances to second on a wild pickoff attempt. BJ advances after a ground out and scores on a botch ground ball that lead to an out at first base.

Team Pavlovich gets some reinforcement from their bats in the top of seventh inning when they tie up the game 4-4. A leadoff double by Jordan Deadwyler and then a base hit through the 6 hole by Bo Lovdahl cut the lead down to one. Bo advanced to second on a wild pitch and eventually scored on a sacrifice fly by Grant Stevenson to tie the game up.

The game went into extras while Team Hardegree left the bases loaded in the 8th and stranded a runner on third in the 9th. Team Pavlovich took the lead in the 10th inning. Adrian Perez lead off the inning with a base hit down the line and later stole second base. Adams then came up and crushed a double to the wall to score Perez from second base and to take the lead. Joe Fitka shut the door on Team Hardegree by retiring the side for the win.
