The Lakers picked up 3 wins this weekend, having 28 hits and 14 runs in the 3 games. The Lakers saw success on both the defensive and offensive side of the game. The defense was led by solid pitching efforts from starters Mason Hicks (game 1), Diego Gonzalez (game 2), and Ty Thomson (game 3), as well as the relief staff comprised of Aiden Thompson, Garrett Bergman, Emerson Fels and JT Roy.

On the offensive side, the Lakers got off to an explosive start in game 1, scoring all 3 runs in the bottom half of the 1st inning. Leading the offense in game 1 was Beau Dalian, who had 2 hits, one of which was a double, and a stolen base. Elkin Ortiz added a hit and an RBI to the board as well as a stolen base. Fernando Bones hit a lead off double to start game 1. The Lakers had 5 hits and 3 runs in game 1. For the defense, Mason Hicks started the game and went 6.2 innings, allowing 5 hits, 2 earned runs, and he had 11 strikeouts. Coming in and getting the save was JT Roy.

In game 2, it was a close game through all 9 innings. The Lakers started the game off with 2 runs in the bottom half of the 1st inning, bringing them within 1 run of Ellsworth. Leading the charge on the offensive side of game 2 was Elkin Ortiz, who had 3 hits and 2 stolen bases. JJ Schubert added some excitement with a late game solo homerun. Schubert had 2 hits, 1 RBI, and 1 stolen base. Miguel Pena also added some excitement early in the game with a 2-run homerun. Tyler Hoffman, Keyber Delgado, Diego Morales, and Cesar Lam all added a hit to the hit column. Delgado added 2 RBIs as well. Lam and Dalian had a stolen base each.  Starting on the mound for the Lakers was Diego Gonzalez. Gonzalez went 5 innings and had 3 strikeouts. Aiden Thompson came in as relief and threw 2 innings, allowing 2 hits, no runs, and 4 strikeouts. Keeping the Panthers scoreless in the top half of the 8th inning was Garett Bergman. Coming into the game to clench save number 2 of the day was JT Roy.

In game 3 the Lakers had an explosive start to game 3 scoring all 4 runs in the bottom of the 1st inning. Cesar Lam had 3 hits, Fernando Bones and Elkin Ortiz both added 2 hits to the game total. Ortiz, Miguel Pena, and Beau Dalian added 1 RBI each. All 9 batters in game 3 had a hit for the Lakers. The defense was solid behind left-handed pitcher Ty Thomson. Thomson threw 5 innings and allowed 2 hits and had 5 strikeouts. In for relief was Emerson Fels who threw 2 innings and allowed 1 hit and had 2 strikeouts, Garrett Bergman added a strikeout, and getting his 3rd save of the weekend was JT Roy.

Overall, the Lakers had 28 hits, 14 runs, 10 RBIs, 8 stolen bases, and 5 doubles on the weekend. Elkin Ortiz had 6 hits, 2 RBIs, and 4 stolen bases for the Lakers. The Laker pitching staff had 26 strikeouts and 9 walks in 25 innings.

Coach Witzke had this to say about the weekend "We played clean baseball across the board this weekend and it really showed at the plate and on the mound. It's great to see us find a new level to our game, especially this time of year, there's a sense of urgency that we have been missing. I'm excited to see how we respond heading into the final weeks of the season."
