Arturo Gil Captures Opening Weekend Player of the Week Honors

Transfer Sophomore right handed pitcher Arturo Gil took home the first ICCAC Pitcher of the Week honors of the 2020 season. In his Iowa Lakes debut, Gil went 3 innings allowing 2 hits with 0 runs and 5 strikeouts. The San Luis, Arizona native also accumulated a 3 inning save in the game 2 win over Allen County Community College this past weekend.

Gil helped the Lakers to a 2-1 start to the season and a series win over the Red Devils to open up their season. The Lakers will be in action again on February 22-23 in Marion, Illinois to take on Southeastern Illinois College for a 4 game series.
