Iowa Lakes Head Baseball Coach, Joey Pavlovich, Steps Down After 5 Seasons

Head Iowa Lakes Baseball Coach Joey Pavlovich will be leaving for NAIA Bryan College in Dayton, Tennessee.  He will serve as the pitching coach for the program.  Pavlovich has coached at Iowa Lakes for the past seven years.  His first two years he served as graduate assistant and the past five years Head Coach. 

Pavlovich's successes during his time at Iowa Lakes include over 70 players sent on to the 4 year level, an NAIA player of the year, multiple All-American's at the 4 year level, and three professional players. 

Grateful for his time at Iowa Lakes, Pavlovich had this to say, "The last seven years here and more specifically the last five as head coach have been everything I could have asked for.  There are wonderful people here within the community and I will always cherish and be thankful for the opportunity I have had to work with such great young men.  I want to especially thank President Newhouse, Troy Larson, and Julie Williams for everything they have done to help mentor me and make this home during my stay at Iowa Lakes.  I am very hopeful that the program will continue to go in the right direction."

Athletic Director Troy Larson said, "We're excited for Coach Pavlovich as he takes this next step in his career.  He has done an outstanding job at Iowa Lakes with our baseball program.  He has worked relentlessly and brought in some outstanding baseball players.  He always coached them up and is leaving the program in very good shape.  We will miss him."

Looking forward, Larson is hopeful about the future of the program, "We have good returning baseball players who have outstanding character.  I'm very excited to get a new coach at Iowa Lakes and to see our baseball program continue to improve."
