Iowa Falls, IA — Panthers take two more from Lakers Sunday afternoon
GAME ONE: (Panthers 6, Lakers 3)
The Panthers pulled away with the lead early in the game with a 6-3 win over the Lakers on Sunday afternoon.
In the first inning the Panthers got their offense started by a sac fly to score one by Carlos Aranda (#27).
The Lakers put up three runs in the fifth inning. Austen Daliet (New Orleans, LA/De La Salle High School), Joey Winters (Rosemount, MN/Henry Sibley High School) and Dean Bedell (Mineola, IA/Treynor High School) powered with big RBIs through this inning.
The Panthers were able to score four runs in the fourth, with a home run by Ybrahim Quevedo (#23).
Kelvin Castro (Bayamon, PR/Esc. Miguel de Cervantes Zaveedra) took the loss for the Lakers, going four innings, allowing six hits and six runs while sitting down three and walking one.
GAME TWO: (Panthers 11, Lakers 3)
The Lakers could not hang on the offensive side of things, against the Panthers with a 11-3 loss.
The Lakers struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time containing the Panthers offense, giving up 11 runs.
The Panthers scored four runs in the seventh inning. Which was started with a walk by Fabian Dumey (#26) and TJ Truso (#7) and an error on a ball put in play by Alexis Ruiz (#16).
Jacob Gilbert (Wasilla, AK/Wasilla High School) took the loss for the Lakers, going five innings, and allowing six hits, five runs, and striking out seven.
Cameron Gallt (Ames, IA/Ames High School) led the Lakers with two hits on three at bats.
The Panthers tallied two home runs in the game, in both the second and third inning.
NEXT UP: Iowa Lakes faces off against Iowa Central at home on March 31st, in Estherville, IA. Game times are set at 12:00pm and 3:00pm.
