Estherville, IA — Spartans take two from Lakers
GAME ONE: (Spartans 4, Lakers 0)
The Lakers watched the game slip away early with no recovering in a 4-0 loss to the Spartans.
The Spartans scored first by a single by Jordan Graves (#18) scoring one in the first.
Noah Carpenter (#29) threw for the Spartans victory against the Lakers. Lasting seven innings, allowing four hits and zero runs while striking out two.
Dayton Robinson (EwaBeaon, HI/James Campbell High School) took the loss for the Lakers, Robinson allowed six hits and four runs over seven innings, striking out nine and walking one.
GAME TWO: (Spartans 8, Lakers 7)
The Lakers collected nine hits, while the Spartans totaled ten in a high scoring affair.
The Lakers notched four runs in the fifth inning. The offensive onslaught by the Lakers were led by Delvis Claudio, Joan Benavidez, Caden White and Jimmy Mapakou, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.
Jordan Graves (#18) took the win for the Spartans, allowing one hit over two innings, striking out one and walking one.
Kelvin Castro (Bayamon, PR/Esc. Miguel de Cervantes Zaveedra) took the loss for the Lakers, going two-thirds inning and allowing four runs on two hits and striking out one.
Kelvin Roman (#25) started the game for the Spartans, allowing eight hits, seven runs through seven innings and striking out ten. Cory Knight (Ankeny, IA/Ankeny Centennial High School) started the game for the Lakers, Knight surrendered four runs on seven hits over eight innings, striking out nine.
