Estherville, IA — Spartans take two from Lakers

GAME ONE: (Spartans 10, Lakers 4)

The Lakers lost the lead late in a 10-4 defeat to the Spartans on Saturday. The game was tied at four a piece in the seventh, when Jordan Graves (#18) doubled scoring two runs.

Akxel Soto and Ben Bach all drove in runs in the fifth inning.

Alex Amaral (#27) got the win for the Spartans. Going seven innings and allowing four runs on five hits and striking out seven.

Jack Hested took the loss for the Lakers. Hested went two-thirds of an innings, allowing four runs on six hits.

Jacob Gilbert started the game for the Lakers, allowing ten hits, six runs through six and a third innings, while sitting down four.

GAME TWO: (Spartans 10, Lakers 6)

The Lakers watched as the game slipped away early with a 10-6 loss to the Spartans. The Spartans took the lead in the second inning.

The Lakers collected a total of seven hits while the Spartans collected 16 in this affair.

On the offensive front, the Lakers totaled five runs in the ninth inning. Austen Daliet, Jimmy Mapakou and Akxel Soto all attained RBIs in this inning.

Will Courtney (#26) earned the victory for the Spartans. Allowing one hit and no runs through three innings, striking out four.

Kedrick Edwards took the loss for the Lakers, allowing 11 hits, four runs and striking out five through seven innings.

NEXT UP: Iowa Lakes travel to Fort Dodge, IA to face Iowa Central on April 7th. Game times are set at 1:00pm and 4:00pm.
