Lakers Drop Two-Game Series to Trojans

Mason City, IA — Lakers Drop Two-Game Series to Trojans

GAME ONE: (Trojans 10, Lakers 4)

The Lakers struggled to get their offense going on Wednesday, in a 10-4 loss to the Trojans.

Andrew Eskens (#2) got the Lakers on the board early in the second, with a double, scoring two runs.

The Trojans pulled away for a good five innings in the fourth inning. In the fourth Trojans, Noah Juliar (#44) doubled to score two, to get the ball rolling. In the fifth inning, the Trojans scored five runs.

Thomas Gross (#8) pitched for the Trojans, going six innings, allowing three hits and three runs over that span.

Kelvin Castro (#39) took the loss for the Lakers. Castro went three and two-thirds inning, allowing five runs on four hits, and sitting down one.

The Lakers showed some life on the offensive side, with Dean Bedell (#20) hitting a solo home run, followed by Eskens attaining two hits in three at bats.

GAME TWO: (Trojans 6, Lakers 0)

The Lakers watched as the game slipped away early, in a 6-0 loss to the Trojans.

Struggling to put runs on the board, the Lakers also had a tough time defensively containing the Trojans.

Cole Hupke (#52) was the winning pitcher for the Trojans. Hupke went five innings, striking out nine and allowing only two hits.

TJ Galleberg (#37) took the loss for the Lakers, going five and two-thirds innings, allowing four hits and six runs, while sitting down two.

NEXT UP: The Lakers face off against the Hawks on April 17th and 18th, in Norfolk, NE. Game times are set at for Saturday at 1:00pm and 4:00pm and Sunday 12:00pm and 3:00pm.
