Estherville, IA — Lakers take one at home
GAME ONE: (Yellow Jackets 4, Lakers 1)
The Lakers fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 4-1 loss to the Yellow Jackets. The Yellow Jackets took the lead in the second inning with a single.
The Yellow Jackets got the things moving in the second inning. Blake Schilling (#1) singled to score one run.
Jovanni Gonzalez (#18) attained the victory for the Yellow Jacket. Gonzalez allowed six hits and one run through six innings, striking out four.
Jack Carlson (#36) took the loss for the Lakers, going through three innings, allowing three hits on four hits, and striking out three. Jimmy Mapakou (#1) homered in the fifth inning.
GAME TWO: (Lakers 2, Yellow Jackets 1)
The Lakers ran off with the lead late with a 2-1 victory over the Yellow Jackets. The game was tied at one with the Lakers batting in the bottom of the sixth when Dean Bedell (#20) singled, scoring one.
The pitching was strong on both sides. The Lakers struck out five while the Yellow Jackets sat down three.
Chase Dornfeld (#31) was the winning pitcher for the Lakers. Dornfeld went six and a third innings, allowing one run on two hits and striking out five. The Lakers did not commit a single error in the field.
NEXT UP: Iowa Lakes Community College Lakers have a conference series at home, Tuesday 21st, against North Iowa Area Community College, in Estherville, IA. Game time is set for 1:00pm and 3:00pm.
