Council Bluffs, IA – Reivers take two from Lakers
GAME ONE: (Reivers 3, Lakers 2)
A walk-off left the Lakers on the wrong end of a 3-2 defeat to the Reivers on Wednesday. The game was tied at two with the Reivers batting in the bottom of the eighth when an error scored one run for the Reivers.
The pitching was strong on both sides. The Reivers pitchers struck out 11 while the Lakers sat down one.
The Reivers got things moving in the first inning, when Dylan Robertson (#13) doubled to score one.
The Lakers evened things up at two a piece in the top of the fourth inning. Beau Sackett (#10) hit a sac fly to score one for the Lakers.
Ernie Day (#35) earned the win for the Reivers, going four and a third innings, allowing two runs on three hits and striking out six.
Cameron Gallt (#22) took the loss for the Lakers, surrendering three runs on nine hits over seven and a third innings, while striking out one.
GAME TWO: (Reivers 9, Lakers 0)
The Lakers fell behind early and could not claw back in a 9-0 loss to the Reivers.
The Lakers had trouble containing the high-powered offense of the Reivers, giving up nine runs.
Will Stevens (#7) earned the win for the Reivers, going three innings, surrendering zero runs on two hits and striking out four and walking one.
Chase Dornfeld (#31) took the loss for the Lakers, going one inning, allowing five runs on two hits.
NEXT UP: The Lakers take on Marshalltown Tigers, in Marshalltown, IA on May 1st & 2nd. Game times are set for Saturday 1pm/4pm and Sunday 12pm/3pm.
