Lakers Drop Two Games Against Tigers

Marshalltown, IA – Lakers drop two games against Tigers

GAME ONE: (Tigers 4, Lakers 1)

The Lakers fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 4-1 loss to the Tigers on Sunday. The Tigers took the lead on a single in the first inning.

Despite losing to the Tigers, the Lakers out hit them seven to five.

The Tigers got things moving in the first inning, when Bryan Morales (#7) singled to score one run.

Jackson Stephen (#33) attained the win for the Tigers. The pitcher went seven innings, allowed only one run on seven hits, sat down four and walked one.

TJ Galleberg (#37) took the loss for the Lakers. The left-hander went six innings, allowed four runs on five hits and struck out five.

GAME TWO: (Tigers 17, Lakers 7)

The Lakers could not contain the Tigers in a 17-7 loss. Despite the loss, the Lakers collected five hits, while the Tigers gathered 16.

The Lakers tallied three runs in the fifth inning, by a three-run home run by Delvis Claudio (#29).

Tom Leathem (#23) got the win for the Tigers. Going three and a third innings, striking out two and allowing three hits and four runs.

Kelvin Castro (#39) took the loss for the Lakers, going one inning, allowing six runs on five hits, and striking out two.

The Lakers gathered two home runs on the day, one by Claudio and the other by Holden Boyce (#9).

NEXT UP: The Lakers face off against the Reivers for their last home game of the season on Wednesday, 5th, 2021. Games are set for 1pm/4pm.
