Reivers Take Two From Lakers  

Estherville, IA – Reivers take two from Lakers  

GAME ONE: (Reivers 5, Lakers 4)

Wednesday's game against the Reivers was a heartbreak for the Lakers, as they lost late in a 5-4 defeat. The game was tied at three with the Reivers batting in the top of the seventh when Dayvin Johnson (#23) homered to score two runs.

The Lakers notched three runs in the fourth inning. The Lakers offensive inning was led by Holden Boyce (#9) and Joan Benavidez (#32), who each had an RBI in the inning.

Parker Maddox (#36) was the winning pitcher for the Reivers. Lasting three and a third inning, allowing two hits and three runs while striking out two and walking one.

Jacob Gilbert (#11) took the loss for the Lakers, going two-thirds of an inning, allowing two runs on one hit, and walking one.

Kedrick Edwards (#21) started the game for the Lakers. Edwards went six and a third inning, allowing three runs on eight hits and striking out four.

GAME TWO: (Reivers 9, Lakers 2)

The Lakers watched as the game slipped away early in a 9-2 loss to the Reivers. The Reivers took the lead on a groundout in the first inning.

The Lakers struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing the Reivers, giving up nine runs.

Jay Watson (#31) pitched for the Reivers and lead them to victory. Surrendering one run on three hits over six innings, while sitting down ten and walking one.

Kelvin Castro (#39) took the loss for the Lakers. The righty allowed two hits and one run over one and two-thirds innings.

Mohamed Baoui (#40) put one out in the fourth inning.

NEXT UP: The Lakers face off against the Eagles for the first round of the ICCAC Division II Region XI Baseball Tournament, on May 8th and 9th. Game times are set for Saturday at 1pm and Sunday 12pm.
