Iowa Lakes Drops Two-Games to Ft. Scott Community College

Game 1 – (Ft. Scott 12, Lakers 1)

Iowa Lakes Community College watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 12-1 loss to Ft. Scott Community College on Friday.  Ft. Scott Community College scored on a single by Holt and a single by Wihihjham in the first inning. 

The Lakers struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Ft. Scott Community College, giving up 12 runs. 

Ft. Scott Community College scored five runs in the fifth inning. Ft. Scott Community College batters contributing to the big inning included Messenger, Wihihjham, and Long, who all drove in runs.

Moreno was the winning pitcher for Ft. Scott Community College. The ace went five innings, allowing one run on five hits and striking out nine.

Bryan Mojica took the loss for Iowa Lakes Community College. The pitcher lasted two innings, allowing ten hits and seven runs while striking out four.

Isaac Rogne, Adam Moser, Joey Winter, Luis Ramos, and Benjamin Bach each collected one hit to lead Iowa Lakes Community College.

Ft. Scott Community College racked up 14 hits in the game.  Wihihjham, Messenger, Long, and Holt each had multiple hits for Ft. Scott Community College.

 

Game 2 – (Ft. Scott 13, Lakers 1)

The Lakers fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 13-1 loss to Ft. Scott Community College on Saturday.  Ft. Scott Community College scored on a single by Szczygiel, a single by Long, and a triple by Shaggs in the first inning.

The Lakers struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Ft. Scott Community College, giving up 13 runs 

Ft. Scott Community College got on the board in the first inning when Szczygiel singled on a 2-1 count, scoring two runs.

Khan was the winning pitcher for Ft. Scott Community College. The bulldog went five innings, allowing one run on zero hits and striking out three.

Bradley Barkley took the loss for Iowa Lakes Community College. The righty lasted two and two-thirds innings, allowing eight hits and ten runs while striking out four.

Ft. Scott Community College totaled nine hits. Clarke and Szczygiel all collected multiple hits for Ft. Scott Community College.
