The Lakers break loose in game two, to split with Southeast Community College.

GAME ONE: (Storm 9, Lakers 8)

A walk-off left the Lakers on the wrong end of a 9-8 defeat to the Storm on Wednesday.  The game was tied at eight with the Storm batting in the bottom of the ninth when Ryan Davis lined out, driving in a run.

Joey Winters drove in four runners in the loss.  Winters drove in runs on a grand slam in the second. In the second inning, the Lakers got their offense started when Santiago Gonzalez singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run.

Southeast Community College evened things up at eight in the bottom of the sixth inning.  Zach Johnson drove in two when Johnson homered. Nate Whitehall was the winning pitcher for the Storm. The pitcher went two and two-thirds innings, allowing one run on one hit and striking out one. Nolan Brown, Ryan Courtney, and Simon Gradoville all put in work in relief out of the bullpen, steering their team towards the victory.

Kellen Cameron took the loss for Lakers. The righthander lasted three innings, allowing three hits and five runs while striking out one. Davis Gatling started the game for the Storm. Davis Gatling allowed five hits and six runs over two innings, striking out two and walking one. The Lakers tallied one home run on the day. Winters went yard in the second inning.

The Lakers tallied nine hits in the game. Winters and Ben Bach all had multiple hits for the Lakers Winter went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Iowa Lakes in hits. Tommy Roland led Southeast Community College with two stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with eight stolen bases.

GAME TWO: (Lakers 16, Storm 6)

Ben Bach didn't feel much like getting out on Wednesday, tallying four hits and leading Iowa Lakes Community College to a 16-6 win over Southeast Community College. Bach singled in the first, singled in the third, doubled in the fifth, and singled in the sixth.

Bats blistered as the Lakers collected 14 hits while the Storm tallied ten in the high-scoring game. In the first inning, Iowa Lakes got their offense started when Joey Winters singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.

The Lakers tallied four runs in the sixth inning. The offensive onslaught by Iowa Lakes was led by Akxel Soto, Peter Marquez, and Adam Moser, all driving in runs in the inning.

Dayton Robinson pitched the Lakers to victory. The righthander surrendered five runs on six hits over four and a third innings, striking out five. Christian Gonzalez threw one and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Jackson Kraus took the loss for the Storm. The bulldog allowed seven hits and seven runs over two and a third innings, striking out four. Southeast tallied three home runs on the day. Jhett Jacquot put one out in the fifth inning. Zach Johnson had a homer in the fifth inning. Eric Anderson went for the long ball in the fifth inning.

Iowa Lakes had 14 hits in the game. Bach, Marquez, Santiago Gonzalez, and Joan Benavidez all had multiple hits for the Lakers. Bach led Iowa Lakes Community College with four hits in five at bats.

Southeast saw the ball well today, racking up ten hits in the game. Jackson Horn, Hunter Brown, and Eric Anderson each had multiple hits for Southeast.
