GAME ONE: (Bears 7, Lakers 0)

Iowa Lakes Community College watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 7-0 loss to Des Moines Area Community College on Monday. The Bears scored on a walk by Cael Boever, a sacrifice fly by Nick Ripa, a walk by Cy Patterson, and a walk by Gage Franck in the first inning.

Iowa Lakes Community College lost despite out-hitting Des Moines Area Community College nine to five. The Bears fired up the offense in the first inning. Cael Boever drew a walk, scoring one run.

One bright spot for Iowa Lakes Community College was a single by Joan Benavidez in the second inning.

Bret Price Jr. pitched the Bears to victory. The fireballer lasted five innings, allowing six hits and zero runs while striking out six and walking zero.

Travis J Galleberg took the loss for Iowa Lakes. The pitcher allowed zero hits and four runs over two-thirds of an inning, striking out one.

The Lakers totaled nine hits in the game. Ben Bach, Benavidez, and Peter Marquez each had multiple hits for Iowa Lakes. Marquez, Benavidez, and Bach each collected two hits to lead the Lakers.

 

The Lakers travel to Fort Dodge for a two-game series against Iowa Central Community College, on Tuesday March 29th.
