Lakers offense drops two-games to Blackhawks

GAME ONE: (Blackhawks 7, Lakers 1)

Iowa Lakes fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 7-1 loss to the Blackhawks. Southeastern took the lead on a home run in the second inning.

The Lakers struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Southeastern, giving up seven runs.

Iowa Lakes got on the board in the second inning when Peter Marquez doubled on a 3-1 count, scoring one run.

Bryan Mojica was on the pitcher's mound for the Lakers. Mojica surrendered seven runs on nine hits over six innings, striking out four and walking one.

Marquez went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Iowa Lakes Community College in hits. While the Blackhawks scattered nine hits in the game.

GAME TWO: (Blackhawks 7, Lakers 2)

Kellen Cameron led things off on the mound for the Lakers. Cameron lasted six innings, allowing five hits and six runs while striking out one. Jack Hested threw two innings in relief.

Iowa Lakes hit one home run on the day by Joey Winters, who went deep in the seventh inning.

Caden White, Peter Marquez, Delvis Claudio, Winters, and Luis Ramos each collected one hit to lead the Lakers. Iowa Lakes didn't commit a single error in the field.

 

The Lakers finish their weekend series with Southeastern Community College Sunday April 10th.
