Warriors sweep Lakers

GAME ONE: (Warriors 3, Lakers 1)

Both teams were strong on the pitcher's mound, but Indian Hills was just a little bit stronger at the plate in a victory over Iowa Lakes. Christian Gonzalez started the game for the Lakers and recorded 14 outs.

Iowa Lakes lost despite out-hitting Indian Hills eight to six. The Lakers got on the board in the second inning when Juan Martinez grounded out, scoring one run.

The Warriors pulled away for good with two runs in the third inning. In the third the Warriors singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.

Gonzalez led things off on the hill for Iowa Lakes. The righty allowed four hits and three runs over four and two-thirds innings, striking out three. Sean Gamble threw two and a third innings in relief out of the bullpen.

The Lakers tallied eight hits. Santiago Gonzalez and Joey Winters, all managed multiple hits for the Lakers. Winters and Gonzalez each managed two hits to lead Iowa Lakes. Iowa Lakes was sure handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Caden White had the most chances in the field with eight. Indian Hills CC racked up six hits in the game. 

GAME TWO: (Warriors 13, Lakers 6)

Indian Hills bested Iowa Lakes in a high-scoring affair, 13-6. The Lakers struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing the Warriors, giving up 13 runs.

Indian Hills took the lead for good with two runs in the fifth inning. Iowa Lakes put up four runs in the second inning. Luis Ramos, Ben Bach, and Blair Speas each drove in runs during the inning. The Warriors scored five runs in the sixth inning.

Kellen Cameron led things off on the pitcher's mound for the Lakers. The righthander went four and two-thirds innings, allowing six runs on 13 hits. Cade Witzke, Hunter Neeley, Jack Hested, and Edwin Acevedo each entered the game as relief, throwing two and a third innings, one and one-third innings, one-third of an inning, and one-third of an inning respectively.

Iowa Lakes tallied 14 hits in the game. Speas, Bach, Ramos, and Joey Winters each managed multiple hits for the Lakers. Speas led Iowa Lakes Community College with three hits in five at bats. The Warriors totaled 20 hits.
