Two Iowa Lakes Baseball Players Earn Postseason Honors

Two Iowa Lakes Community College baseball athletes were named to the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Division II Baseball All-Region teams.

Matt Torresan was named to the ICCAC All-Region 2nd team.  Torresan completed the season with a .355 batting average and .393 in conference play.  He finished with 56 hits, including 12 doubles and 2 homeruns.  During the conference season he had 12 stolen bases and totaled 17 for the regular season.

"Matt is a very talented student-athlete that cares for the team and his hard work throughout the two years had paid off for him. He recently committed to Niagara University a Division 1 program. This season he always found his way on the basepath offensively and defensively was very effective as well. It was no surprise for me he got selected, he worked hard for it and never quit despites adversities," commented Head Coach Danny Acosta.

Isaac Rogne was named Honorable Mention.  Rogne finished with a .301 batting average in conference play and hit 4 doubles and 1 homerun.  He had 0 errors defensively and caught 12 out of 33 stolen base attempts.

"Isaac is another guy that worked so hard this year. Catching day in and day out is not an easy task, and he did it for most of the season for us. Got sidelined for a little bit due to a concussion, and got back towards the end of the season. No surprises here either he worked hard to deserve the recognition," commented Head Coach Danny Acosta.
