On Saturday, Iowa Lakes Men's Soccer traveled to Council Bluffs, facing off against #2 nationally ranked Iowa Western. The scoring got on the way in the 13th minute when Sofian Maghouz pressed the Iowa Western goalkeeper and got the better of him, putting the ball away to make it 1-0. The Reivers fought back in the second half, equalizing the scoreline. The two teams continued to battle in a hard-fought game, but neither team could find the game-winner after two periods of overtime. The Lakers and The Reivers will meet again on October 16th in Spencer to write the next chapter of their major rivalry.

Iowa Lakes Men's Soccer now moves to a record of 11-1-1 on the season. The Lakers host Iowa Central next on Tuesday, October 5th.
