Sofian Maghouz had a fantastic week with an overtime assist when he set up Aphelele Nzwanga for the win over Marshalltown. He followed up the assist with the lone goal against Iowa Western when he pressed the goalkeeper, stripped him of the ball, and put it away. Sofian's efforts earned him NJCAA Division I Men's Soccer player of the week.

Taariq Ganga earned Conference Goalkeeper of the Week for the second week in a row. Ganga had an excellent game against Iowa Western, only conceding one goal while making ten saves against the #2 rank Reivers. His performance between the sticks allowed The Lakers to leave Council Bluffs with a 1-1 draw.

The Lakers take on Indian Hills tomorrow, Saturday, October 8th, at 3pm at home in Spencer.
