The Iowa Lakes women's golf team finished up their regular season at the Dordt Spring Invitational with a 4th place finish out of eight teams. Leading the Lakers on day two was freshman Abby Gaudian who another career best round of 82, pacing the team with a score of 344. Abby would finish the tournament with a two-day total of 168. Another standout freshman Isabella Santistevan carded back-to-back rounds of 83, posting her career best two-day total of 166. Isabella would finish in a T-11 while Abby finished in a T-14 in the 57-player field.

"Teamwise, we took a little step back today and just could not get the momentum going that we saw day one" said Iowa Lakes golf coach Jarvis Weber. "Not sure if it was a confidence or nerves thing, but I am sure we will learn from it and get ourselves ready for the regional tournament next week."

Closely behind Isabella and Abby was sophomore Kelly Winter with a two-day total of 169. Gretchen Hofstad would come in at 179 and Somer Hudson at 190. Individual competitor Alexis Halbach came in at 214 for the two days.

"I could not be prouder of Abby and Isabella this week. They have worked extremely hard and are starting to see some great results. They will continue to get better and better and will be great leaders for this program next year as sophomores. But first, we still have some work to do to achieve our goals of heading to Florida after next weekend."

The Lakers will take some time to rest up and refocus for the Region XI Championship on April 24th and 25th at Otter Creek Golf Course in Ankeny, IA for a chance to qualify for the NJCAA Women's National Championship in May in Ormond Beach, Florida.

"This group has been an absolute pleasure to be around every day and get to know. They have so much more to offer and they are starting to see what they can do, so I am thoroughly excited to watch them put it all together next week in Ankeny." added Coach Weber.
