Thunderwolves start season in Florida

SUNY Niagara kicked off the 2025 spring season with 10 highly-competitive, non-conference contests as part of The Spring Games in Clermont, Florida.

The Thunderwolves (0-10 overall) open up Region III play with a home doubleheader vs. Herkimer College. First pitch is set for 1 p.m. Sat. March 29. 

Iowa Lakes CC 14, SUNY Niagara 6 (6 inn.)

Freshman Caitlyn Hanley started the season strong with a three-run home run and four RBIs. Sophomore Camryn Smith finished 3-for-4 with a double and two runs scored. Freshman Isabella Christopher went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI.

Ellsworth CC 18, SUNY Niagara 11 (5 inn.)

Hanley was 3-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs for the Wolves. Freshman Mia Herman was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and three runs scored, sophomore Kaylee Hassler went 2-for-2 with an RBI and three stolen bases and freshman Quinn Manth added two RBIs. 

Triton College 13, SUNY Niagara 2 (5 inn.)

Christopher clubbed a two-run double and Manth singled for the Thunderwolves' lone hits.

Hawkeye CC 9, SUNY Niagara 1 (5 inn.)

Manth and Herman singled, while freshman Lauren Kisloski had two stolen bases in the setback.

Triton College 18, SUNY Niagara 7

Christopher finished 2-for-4 with a home run, double and five RBIs. Kisloski was 2-for-2, Smith went 1-for-2 with two runs scored and sophomore Rylee VanNostrand had an RBI.

Waubonsee CC 10, SUNY Niagara 2 (5 inn.)

Freshman Jordan Shaffer was 1-for-1 with an RBI and Manth added a single in the loss.

South Suburban 12, SUNY Niagara 2 (5 inn.)

Smith ripped an RBI double and Manth was 1-for-3 with a run scored and two stolen bases.

Parkland CC 16, SUNY Niagara 3 (5 inn.)

Hanley was 1-for-2 with two RBIs. Freshman Natalie Brandel and Smith added two hits apiece.

South Suburban 20, SUNY Niagara 2 (5 inn.)

Shaffer hit a two-run double, while Hanley and VanNostrand each finished 1-for-2 with a run scored.

Parkland CC 16, SUNY Niagara 1 (5 inn.)

VanNostrand had the lone RBI, while Smith and Brandel each went 1-for-1.
