The Lakers traveled to Waterloo, IA, for the spring preview hosted at Gates Park Golf Course. Hawkeye CC hosted nine teams in the event. Iowa Lakes finished 6th as a team while being six strokes from a share of 3rd place. 

Janlo Zaayman bounced back from Friday with a 75(+3) that earned him a T-11 finish. Christian Prambs carded a 76 (+4), Kale Ladwig finished with a 78 (+6), and Raul Jerez Martin rounded out the counting scores with an 80(+8). Jude Walz tallied 84 (+12), and Breyden Johnson fired 93 (+21).

"We still have some inconsistent areas of our game to focus on. We leave Gates Park with a lot of positives to take from it. It was good for the fellas to realize that 10-15 strokes separate us from 6th place and 1-2 place finish," said Coach Myers. "The weather, course conditions, etc., are improving, and so will our quality of practice. These guys work hard and put in a lot of time. I'm excited to see it start to pay off. We travel to Fort Dodge for a 2-day tourney, and I'm excited to see these guys start to put all the pieces together."
