Iowa Lakes Swimming Team Ready for National Tournament

The Iowa Lakes Swimming Team will be competing at the National Tournament March 4th-7th in Fort Pierce, Florida.  Each day starts with preliminary races for each event and then finals and relays competing in the evening.  Each athlete may compete in a maximum of four events. 

The Lakers have several ranked athletes heading into the competition.

Val Trussov is ranked 5th in the 50 butterfly, 11th in the 100 individual medley, and 16th in both the 100 breaststroke and 100 butterfly. 

Jacob Bohnert is ranked 8th in the 50 freestyle, 9th in the 100 freestyle, and 10th in the 100 backstroke. 

Patrick Voller is ranked 12th in the 200 freestyle and 15th in the 100 backstroke.

Ben Hehr is ranked 14th in both the 200 and 500 freestyle. 

Randy Vaughan is ranked 9th in the 100 individual medley and 11th in the 400 individual medley.  Garrett Nielson is ranked 16th in the 100 individual medley.

 As a team, the Lakers are ranked 4th for the 800 free relay; 5th for the 200 free relay, 400 medley

relay, and 400 free relay; and 6th for the 200 medley relay. 

Juliana Villa Rodriguez will be competing on the women's side.  She is ranked 7th in 100 individual medley, 8th in 200 backstroke, 9th in 100 backstroke, and 12th in 50 backstroke.
