Laker Swimmers Fall to St. Mary's

The Laker Women swam strong, but came up short against St. Mary's.  Liz Crewe-Brown had two big wins in the 100 IM and 50 Breaststroke, coming from behind in both events.  "We weren't sure Liz would even swim today due to a back injury.  She is a tough competitor and nothing was keeping her from swimming today." said Coach Peters.  Juliana Villa had a win in the 50 butterfly and nearly came from behind to win the 100 freestyle. After eleven and a half minutes, the race was decided by 0.08 seconds.  Mavi Valentin won the 200 freestyle and was second in the 100 freestyle.  Freshman Maggie Jackson continued to show big improvements in her events, with lifetime bests in all three swims.
