Laker Women Earn First Win of the Season Against Tabor and Fall to Midland University in Pair of Duals

Juliana Villa won three events and Mavi Valentin won two events as they led the way against Tabor College.  Villa won the 50 and 100 freestyles and the 100 breastroke while Valentin won the 200 and 500 freestyles and finished second in the 200 backstroke.  Liz Crewe-Brown picked up a win in the 100 backstroke and Maggie Jackson was second in the 100 freestyle.

Villa and Valentin were the top finishers against Midland.  Valentin had second place finishes in the 200 and 500 freestyles and the 200 backstroke and Villa had finished second in the 50 and 100 freestyles.  Crewe-Brown finished second in the 100 backstroke.

"It was nice to get a win today against Tabor, but we didn't compete as well against Midland as I hoped.  Liz was sick and had to be pulled from the meet after her first event so that really hurt us and forced us to scratch our final relay.  All four women continue to improve on the season and we are trying a few new events to increase our flexibility in future events." Head Coach Todd Peters commented after the meet.

The Laker Women are now 1-3 on the year and will next compete at the Morningside Invite on November 9.
