Iowa Lakes Community College Head Coach, Katie Larson, announced the signing of Sydney Jensen to the 2018-2019 recruiting class. Sydney is the daughter of Mark and Jennifer Jensen and plays for the Okoboji High School Pioneers.

"We are very excited that Sydney chose to be a Laker next year," said Coach Larson. "Sydney is a very solid local athlete that is going to be a great addition for us. We love the fact that Sydney played multiple sports in high school as this has given her many tools to be successful in softball. She is also going to be a tremendous role-model to local athletes. She is playing the sport that she loves, close to home, so that family and friends can be there cheering her on. We cannot wait to get Sydney on campus and help her grow the next two years not only as an athlete, but also as a person."

A corner/pitcher, Jensen four-year letter winner for the Pioneers. In her junior season, Jensen batted .235. Sydney is also a two-year letter winner in volleyball, two-year letter winner in basketball, and four-year letter winner in track.

Jensen had this to say about Iowa Lakes, "I chose Iowa Lakes because I can get a quality education for less money and be in a small community close to home. I also am able to play my favorite sport!"Ca
