Lady Lakers Fall Short of a National Appearance

The Lady Lakers competed in their regional tournament down in Ankeny, Iowa at Otter Creek for a chance to compete at nationals.

Isabella placed 23rd with rounds of 88 and 82. "She battled hard and didn't give up even when her game just wasn't where it had been the last couple of weeks. Carli placed 37th with rounds of 89 and 96. "Carli injured her leg to begin the spring which caused her to miss some crucial hours on the course. After only walking one 18-hole tournament, I was unsure how her leg would hold up at regionals. She proved how tough she is being able to ignore the soreness of her leg and still post respectable scores!"

 

"Starting my first coaching job in the middle of the season posed its challenges for us coaches and the players. The weather plagued our spring season allowing the women just one tournament before their regional competition. Carli and Isabella didn't allow the adversity to become an excuse. They showed up each day with a great attitude and worked hard. I was honored to get to know these ladies and have full confidence that they will succeed at whatever they decide to do in their careers after Iowa Lakes!"
