Tyana Kleis to Play Softball at Iowa Lakes

Iowa Lakes Community College Head Coach, Katie Larson, announced that Tyana Kleis will be joining the Iowa Lakes Softball team for the upcoming 2017-2018 season. Tyana is the daughter of Thalina Kleis Edwards and played for the DeLasalle High School Islanders.

"We are very excited to have a utility player like Tyana coming in. Her athletic ability will allow her to move around on the field and help her team where she is needed." Said Coach Larson.

A utility player, Tyana is a three-time softball letter winner. In her senior campaign, she batted .366 with 30 hits and 23 runs scored. She also had a .430 on base percentage. Because of her leadership skills, Tyana was selected as team captain both her junior and senior season. She was also awarded honorable mention.

Tyana excelled off the field as well. She is a three year letter winner in football as their manager. In the classroom, she was on the honor roll all four years.

"Tyana is going to not only be a great addition to our softball family, but also to this school." Commented Coach Larson. "Her life experiences thus far have set her up for success. She is a very driven young lady that will be a role model for not only her teammates, but also the youth in the community. We are very excited to see how Tyana will continue to grow here at Iowa Lakes!"
