She then stole second and advanced to third on a groundout from Bryn Bohmann. Thorson was then able to score on a passed ball to give the Lakers a 1-0 lead.

Olivia Funk started the inning with a single. Brielle Bartelt entered the game run and swiftly stole second and third. She was able to cross home on a single by Thorson. Thorson again stole second and advanced on a single from Bohmann. She then came around to score on a single from MacKenna Jones.

The Mustangs were able to score one run in the fifth on a single, walk, and Laker error.

Game 2: 10 (ILCC), 2 (MUJV) 5 innings

The Mustangs led off the game with a walk. A sacrifice bunt advanced the runner to second, before she scored on a single. Thorson got things started with a single and stolen base. She advanced to third on a single from Bohmann and scored on a passed ball. With Bohmann now on third, Jones executed a sacrifice fly to give the Lakers a 2-1 lead. With the bases now cleared, back to back singles by Paige Grafton and Karisa Hernandez put runners in scoring position. A fielder's choice allowed Grafton to advance to third, before scoring on a single from Funk.

Jayda Staige was able to get the defense off the field quickly in the second, when she struck out the side. With one out, Thorson singled and stole second. Bohmann then stepped up and tripled to allow Thorson to score.

Both offenses remained quiet, until Morning side produced one run on two singles in the fifth inning.

The Lakers were able to break things open in the sixth when Thorson was walked on four straight pitches. She again stole second and advanced to third on a flyout from Bohmann. Jones then reached on a dropped third strike, which also allowed Thorson to score. Bartlet entered to run and advanced to second on a walk to Grafton. Hernandez then singled to load up the bases and bring up O'Donnell. She delivered a single up the middle to score two runs. This was followed with a single from Funk to give the Lakers an 8-2 lead. Jayda Staige then grounded out to advance both runners and put the winning run at second. Kiaya Dunbar hit her second walk-off double of the season to complete the 10-2 early ending victory for the Lakers.
