Head Coach Joey Pavlovich enters his 4th season as the head coach at Iowa Lakes. He is excited to get the season underway, "This season, we will have one focus and that is improving daily. It is always interesting when previewing teams and what coaches expect. I don't buy into preseason conference rankings, players to watch, etc. because we are 0-0 and our players have zero stats. We just want to be the best team we can be every day and win those daily battles. At the end of the day, wins and losses will take care of themselves."

Evan Sankey is a key returner for the Lakers. A right handed pitcher from Appleton, WI, he will lead the Laker pitching staff this season. He is coming off a great summer season with the Ohio Valley Collegiate League and has also developed his leadership skills. Jayden Adams was unable to complete his freshman campaign due to injury but looks to come back strong this year. Before the injury he was hitting .292 with 12 doubles and 2 home runs. Mallard Holland is another returner who will provide some strong hitting and leadership.

The Lakers are also looking for big contributions from the freshmen class. It is a large class with many players coming from the Midwest.

Pavlovich has been ambitious with this season's schedule.  Prior to league play the Lakers have 16 straight games against Division 1 junior college opponents on the road including a trip to Council Bluffs to face Iowa Western.

Iowa Lakes Baseball team will start the season this weekend in Marion, IL.  The Lakers will take on Southeastern Illinois College on Sunday, February 24th and Monday, February 25th.
