Davis Signs with Cincinnati Christian University

Iowa Lakes Softball player, Shelby Davis, signed to continue her athletic and academic careers at Cincinnati Christian University in Cincinnati, Ohio.

"I am thrilled that Shelby decided to continue at Cincinnati Christian University. CCU is a great school for her to develop both athletically and academically," said Larson. "The past two years have been a pleasure to coach Shelby as her attitude, heart, and hard work has changed this program. She has created a high expectation for future Lakers and left her mark on this school. I am very sad to see Shelby go, but am excited to watch her continue to grow. The sky is the limit for this young lady!"

Shelby played for Central High School in Rapid City, SD and is the daughter of Aaron and Stephanie Davis. During her senior year at Central, she posted a  .550 batting average with 28 singles and 29 runs batted in. She also helped lead her team to the South Dakota State Tournament.

In her time as a Laker, Shelby posted a .380 batting average with 116 hits, including 28 doubles, 2 triples, and 3 homeruns. She batted in 85 runs, while crossing the plate 56 times herself. She helped the Lakers to a 60-40 record, including a Regional Championship appearance in 2016. Shelby was awarded 2nd Team All-Region both her freshman and sophomore years.

Davis had this to say, "I think one of my best decisions was attending Iowa Lakes Community College. I made so many friends and learned so much. I am sad to leave Iowa Lakes, but I am ready to take on a new adventure at Cincinnati Christian."
