Klocke Family Classic

The Iowa Lakes men's golf team returned to the links over the weekend to compete in the Klocke Family Classic at Hunter's Ridge Golf Course in Marion, Iowa. The Lakers finished 11th out of 15 teams posting a two-day total of 629, moving up two spots after the second day with a team score of 305; a 19 stroke improvement from the first round of 324. The Lakers were paced by sophomores Morgan Edwards and Carlton Rahn who posted two day totals of 153 and 154, with day two scores of 74 and 75, respectively.

"This was a great weekend for our guys to gain some valuable experience" said Coach Weber when asked about the tournament. "We were led by two solid performances from our sophomores, which is exactly what I expect from them and was happy to see. Our freshman learned quickly from their day one rounds and improved overnight to help post a solid team score for day two. I was proud of everybody for how they bounced back and showed a lot of pride and grit. Hopefully they take this weekend and build on it and keep showing improvement throughout the fall."

The Lakers will look to continue their season tomorrow (September 10th) at the NIACC Fall Invitational in Mason City, Iowa and then at the Grandview Fall Shootout at Otter Creek Golf Club in Ankeny, Iowa on September 17th.
