Softball Earns 11 Academic All-Region Players

Eleven Iowa Lakes Community College softball student-athletes were named to the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Division II Softball Academic All-Region teams.

To be eligible for the ICCAC Academic All-Region First Team, a student-athlete must have a GPA between 4.0 and 3.5 during the spring season. To be eligible for the ICCAC Academic All-Region Second Team, a student-athlete must have a term GPA between 3.49 and 3.0 during the spring season.

The nine athletes that received first-team honors were Kamryn Buntrock, a sophomore from Red Oak, Iowa, Alexis Chase, a freshman from Chatfield, Minnesota, Eliya Johnson, a freshman from Coon Rapids, Minnesota, Emma Kral, a freshman from Graettinger, Iowa, Kailey Maksim, a sophomore from Peoria, Arizona, Allison McCabe, a freshman from St. Peter, Minnesota, Mackenna Otte, a freshman from Randolph, Minnesota, Kaitlin Roundy, a freshman from Washington, Utah, and Olivia Stevens, a freshman from St. Peter, Minnesota.

The two athletes that received second-team honors were: Amanda Franke, a freshman from Eyota, Minnesota, and Sydney Uekert, a freshman from Kronenwetter, Wisconsin.

"I am very proud of what these young ladies have accomplished. Academics are a high priority in this program, and it is awesome to see that their hard work in the classroom has paid off. These young ladies are the epitome of what we look for in a Laker softball player and it will be great to see what more they can accomplish on and off the field." Commented Coach King
