Iowa Lakes Community College Head Softball Coach, Katie King, announced the signing of Mary Koch to the 2025-2026 recruiting class. Koch is the daughter of Tim and Amy Koch and attends O'Gorman High School in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

"Mary is an incredibly well-rounded student-athlete who will come in and instantly have an impact on our Iowa Lakes family. She is hard-working, caring, dedicated, and studious. All of these qualities and many more are why we believe she will be such a positive influence on the entire Iowa Lakes campus," commented Coach King.

As a pitcher/corner, Koch has earned two varsity letters for the Knights with one season to go. To this point, Koch has earned a .424 career batting average with 56 hits, including 15 doubles, 3 triples, and 4 homeruns. In the circle, Koch has compiled a 15-9 record allowing just 45 walks, while striking out 112 batters. For her efforts, she was named to the Coaches Association All-State Tournament Team and All-Conference in 2024, as well as to the All-State team in 2023. Koch has also been named the Argus Leader Athlete of the Week during her time as a Knight. In the classroom, Koch has been a member of the National Honor Society.

Koch had this to say, "From the moment I stepped on campus it felt like home and the people I met felt like family. I believe Iowa Lakes is the perfect place for me to work, improve, succeed, and achieve my goals."

"We are very excited that Mary decided to be a Laker next year," commented Coach King. "We believe that Mary will provide our lineup with a right-handed bat with a ton of power, which was something we were looking for. Her dedication to her craft is unmatched and we are excited to continue to watch Mary grow while she is a Laker."
