Iowa Lakes Community College Head Softball Coach, Katie King, announced the signing of Tristen Young to the 2024-2025 recruiting class. Young is the daughter of Rob and Roz Young attends Wausau East High School in Wausau, WI. 

"Tristen is another outstanding athlete in our 2024 class." Commented Coach King. "She fits right into the type of student-athletes that we are trying to recruit into the program. She is a quality student, athlete, and a genuinely kind-hearted person." 

Young, a middle infielder, has lettered for the Lumberjacks. In her junior season, she posted a .348 batting average with a .386 on-base percentage. Young had 23 hits, including 8 doubles, 5 triples, and 1 homerun.

Young had this to say about choosing Iowa Lakes, "I chose Iowa Lakes because it has a very home like feeling. Iowa Lakes not only focuses on athletes but also focuses on their academic career. I also love the coaches and have got to see the team dynamic and how important that is to them. I truly believe I could pursue my dreams at this school."

Young is an all-around athlete, also lettering in volleyball and basketball. In the classroom, Young has been on the honor roll and has perfect attendance.

Coach King also had this to say, "We cannot wait to welcome Tristen and her family to Iowa Lakes. Tristen is a good high school player, but I believe her best softball is still in front of her. She loves the game and is like a sponge soaking up information that is given to her. She wants to be better and understands that to do that hard work needs to be put in. I cannot wait to work with her these next two years and see all that she can accomplish!"
