Iowa Lakes Community College Head Softball Coach, Katie King, announced the signing of Macy Pickett to the 2024-2025 recruiting class. Pickett is the daughter of Barb and Shannon Pickett and attends Ecole Secondaire Beaumont Composite High School in Beaumont, Alberta, Canada.

"We would like to welcome Macy and her family to the Iowa Lakes Softball family," said Coach King. "Macy is the perfect student-athlete to bring into his program. She is determined to be the best both on and off the field and lets nothing get in her way."

As a pitcher/utility player, Pickett has found a lot of success. She has compiled a .338 batting average with a .440 on-base percentage. She has recorded 52 hits, including 7 doubles, 2 triples, and 2 homeruns. Last season she allowed just 89 hits and struck out 73 batters. In the classroom, Pickett has the highest GPA for all French Immersion students, has honors with distinction from 2020-2023, and honors in 2024.

"From my first call with Iowa Lakes, Coaches King and Larson have demonstrated their commitment to their athletes both on and off the field," commented Pickett. "The program structure and team culture they've created was a deciding factor for me. I'm looking forward to the opportunity to challenge myself as an athlete and student as well as grow as a person and teammate."

Coach King also had this to say, "Macy is going to do great things for this program both on and off the field. She is a standout person in every aspect of her life. We are confident that she is going to be a great addition to our pitching staff and will also bring some power into our offensive lineup. We cannot wait to see what Macy can do in her two years at Iowa Lakes."
