Iowa Lakes Softball Announces Signing Kaitlyn Duchateau

Iowa Lakes Community College Head Softball Coach, Katie King, announced the signing of Kaitlyn Duchateau to the 2024-2025 recruiting class. Duchateau is the daughter of Brett and Tonya Duchateau and attends Preble High School in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

"Kaitlyn choosing to be a Laker next year is very exciting," commented Coach King. "She brings a level of competitiveness and fire to the field that will allow her to succeed at Iowa Lakes."

As a middle infielder, Duchateau will earn two varsity letters in her career. Last season, she compiled a .338 batting average with a .491 on-base percentage. She racked up 23 hits, including 6 doubles, 5 triples, and 1 homerun. In the classroom, Duchateau has been on the honor roll from 2022-2023.

As to why Duchateau chose Iowa Lakes, "I chose Iowa Lakes because it felt right at home and the students and coaches I met were very welcoming and supportive! I love the small campus and small-town setting and how they focus on both athletics and academics too. I'm excited to be able to reach my goals at this school next year!"

"Kaitlyn was exactly the type of athlete that we were looking for. She is very strong defensively up the middle and that is exactly what we needed in our 2024 class. At the plate, she has great power to the alleys of the field and will be tough out for the opposing team. As a leader, Kaitlyn is a great teammate that is passionate about the success of others. We cannot wait for Kaitlyn to get to campus and show us what she can do in the blue and gold!" Commented Coach King.
