FRESHMAN YEAR (2018): Laurie played in 31 games for the Lakers this past year. She batted .274 with 20 hits, including 3 doubles and 3 homeruns. She drove in 19 runs and crossed the plate 12 times herself. Laurie was named to the ICCAC Academic All-Region 2nd Team. 

HIGH SCHOOL: Laurie is a graduate of Des Moines East High School. During her 5 years as a letter-winner, Laurie received Metro All-Conference Honorable Mention four years and 2nd Team Metro All-Conference her senior year. She was also a four year IGHSAU Academic Achievement winner. In her senior year, Laurie had a batting average of .322 and an on base percentage of .421. She had 29 hits, including 7 doubles and 1 homerun. Laurie held a 4.0 GPA in high school, was a 4-year Honor Roll student, was president of Ambassadors and PEPE Club, and was on National Honor Society, National Society of High School Scholars, and National Council of Youth Leaders. Laurie was also a Tribe Leader at high school athletic events and on the high school newspaper staff. 

PERSONAL: Laurie is the daughter of Ken and Leigh Custard and has two siblings, Courtney and Nick Roth. Laurie is best known as Lou. Her favorite food is Tasty Tacos and favorite color is pink. Laurie likes the show Grey's Anatomy, the song Somebody Else by 1975, and the movie National Treasure. As a die hard Eagles fan, the most interesting place that Laurie has visited is Philadelphia. After graduation, Laurie would love to become a FBI agent.
