Iowa Lakes Community College Head Softball Coach, Katie Larson, announced the signing of Taylor Allen to the 2018-2019 recruiting class. Taylor is the daughter of Curt and Shelley Allen and played for the Neepawa Area Collegiate Tigers out of Neepawa, Manitoba, Canada.

"We are very excited to welcome Taylor and her family to the Laker softball program. Taylor is a very driven and competitive young lady. She strives to be the best at everything that she does. Her work ethic, passion for the game, and leadership qualities will allow her to be very successful at Iowa Lakes." Commented Coach Larson.

Taylor will be transferring from the University of Minnesota-Crookston. While at UMC, Taylor played in 32 games as a freshman. She batted .239 with 21 hits, including 5 doubles and 1 triple. Taylor had an on-base percentage of .316 and was 100% on stolen bases.

As a catcher, Taylor saw great success in high school. She was selected to the All-Star team her freshman and senior seasons and helped lead her team to becoming Provincial Champions her freshman season.

Coach Larson also had this to say, "Taylor is one of those players that has only started to tap into her potential. The room to achieve greatness for this young woman is through the roof! She has the athletic ability, work ethic, and knowledge and passion for the game to be a difference maker. Additionally, Taylor's ability to be a leader is inevitable. She has the confidence and personality to lead her teammates both on and off the field. I am very excited Taylor decided to be a Laker and cannot wait to watch her grow this year!"
