NIACC Fall Invite at Fort Dodge Country Club

The Iowa Lakes Men's and Women's Golf Teams were in action for the NIACC Fall Invite held at the Fort Dodge Country Club due to weather conditions to the Mason City Country Club.

Callan Hinn (Spirit Lake) shot a 118 for her 18-hole total on the women's side.

On the men's side the Lakers seemed to pick up where they left off coming off of a 2nd place finish at the Region 11 golf tournament. The Laker men picked up a 5 shot victory posting a 305 for a team total. Matt Bennett and Jacob Baker led the way with a pair of 74's. Jack Brashear fired a 78, while Jordan Henry came in with a 79. Non-counting score was Joe Swaine shooting an 82. Iowa Lakes second team finished 11th shooting a 343. They were led by Connor Anderson and Hunter King shooting 83's. Cayle Carney came in with an 87, while Hunter Longnecker came in with a 90. Non-counting score was Collin Kemper with a 95.

"I feel we got off to a good start for the fall season. We have some new faces to the team and they stepped into their roles. We continue to grow as a team and as a program and all we can do is get better each day. Callan had one bad hole that got her and we will get better. Matt and Jacob played well to help lead the team. Jack I thought played well for his first college tournament. We have the rest of the week to practice and get better before out next tournament." Said Coach Soper.

Next action for the Lakers will be Saturday September 17th when they host the Laker Fall Invite at Brooks Golf Course in Okoboji, IA.
