Estherville, IA – Iowa Lakes hosted DMACC for their 3^rd and 4^th game of their series at Hess-Limberg Field. Iowa Lakes fell in a nail biter in game three 7-5 and fell in game two 15-6. Iowa Lakes is 9-20 (1-5 ICCAC) now on the year.

Game 3

Iowa Lakes put pressure on the Bears from the get go. Connor Mitchell hit a single up the middle, followed by a Mikey Adams double down the left field line to set Ashtin Moxey up to drive in Mitchell with a RBI single up the middle. Adrian Perez stepped up next with an RBI single to right center to score Adams from third base, giving the Lakers a 2-0 lead early. The Bears responded in the top of the second inning scoring two runs off starter Drew Grubb. Grubb threw three innings striking out three and allowing two runs. Beau Britton came on to pitch in the third for the Lakers retiring the side in order in the fourth inning. In the bottom of the fourth, Perez got the Lakers going with a single up the middle. Jordan Deadwyler drove in Perez from first with a double to left center. Spenser Larson came up later in the inning and laced a RBI double to right center scoring Deadwyler from second. BJ Johnson traded places with Larson when he roped a RBI double to left field scoring the Lakers final run of the game and giving them a 5-2 lead. Britton pitched the fifth inning allowing a run after a lead-off double to start the inning. Britton finished with two innings, one run, and two strikeouts. Joe Fitka came on in relief in the sixth inning, but failed to get an out allowing a lead-off single and two walks before being relieved by Mitch Ebben. Ebben's first hitter hit a sacrifice fly ball to left field and cutting the Laker lead to one. With runners on the corners, Ebben failed to come set and balked giving the Bears free bases and allowed them to tie the game up at five before getting the last out of the inning. Ebben returned for the seventh inning and allowed two runs with a strikeout, a hit by pitch, a stolen base, and a two-run homerun to left field. The Lakers could not get a rally going in the seventh and lost the game 7-5.

Game 4

The Bears took a hold of game four early scoring 7 runs in the first two innings off starter Martin Eckard. The Lakers responded adding two of their own runs in the bottom of the second inning with a single from Tavan Shahidi, a double from Bo Lovdahl, and a two RBI single from Moxey. Devon Munter came on to throw one inning of scoreless baseball in the third for the Lakers. The offense went quiet for the Lakers until later in the game. Paul Mudrow came in to pitch for the Lakers throwing a scoreless fourth inning and a one run fifth inning giving the Bears an 8-2 lead. Bransen Petersen was called on to pitch next for the Lakers, pitching in the sixth letting up one run on two hits and a walk. The Laker's bats came alive in the sixth inning scoring four runs starting with two walks to Larson and Johnson. Mitchell stepped up next and hit a RBI single up the middle. Shahidi had an infield RBI single to third cutting the lead down to five. Bo Lovdahl stepped up and drove in a run with a single to right field. Moxey then came up and smoked a RBI double down the left field line driving in Shahidi and making it 9-6 Bears. Petersen went out for his final inning allowing two runs on three hits and a walk. Mark Bowen threw a scoreless eighth inning for the Lakers striking out two. Lakers couldn't get anything going offensively and were sat down in order in the eighth. Dylan Klein came in to pitch in the ninth allowing a hit, two walks, and recording a fly out. Trae Ramsey came in with the bases loaded and allowed a two RBI single up the middle and a sacrifice fly before recording the final out. The Lakers were shut down in the ninth behind retired and falling to the Bears 15-6 in the final game of the series.   

Iowa Lakes will be playing at home next on Tuesday April, 11^th at 1 pm against Dakota County Technical College.
