Estherville, IA- Iowa Lakes hosted the Trojans from North Iowa Area Community College in a doubleheader Saturday night. Iowa Lakes fell to the Trojans in both games 9-5 and 7-4.

Game one

Iowa Lakes recorded nine hits, including a home run from catcher, Tavan Shahidi. Bo Lovdahl was two for two with a RBI double to drive in Mikey Adams for the Laker's first run of the game. The big inning for the Lakers came in the fourth inning plating four runs on five hits from Shahidi, Bo Lovdahl, Jordan Deadwyler, Spenser Larson, and BJ Johnson. Marcel d'Avoine started on the mound, pitching three and a third innings striking out, walking, and allowing five runs. Bransen Petersen came in relief throwing one and one third innings allowing two runs and three walks. Mitch Ebben threw for two thirds innings with one hit, walk, and strikeout. Mark Bowen finished the game on the hill for the Lakers, pitching one and one third innings with two strikeouts and one run, hit, and walk.

Game two

A two RBI home run from Adams helped the Lakers take an early lead in the first inning, but NIACC answered back in the second inning scoring four run off starter Mitch Sparks. Spenser Larson hit his second home run in the bottom of the second inning to bring the game within one. NIACC added two more in the top of the third on two walks, a hit, and a hit by pitch. NIACC plated their last run in the fourth inning on a RBI double. Iowa Lakes scored their last run in the sixth inning on back to back hits from Bo Lovdahl and Ashtin Moxey. Bo Lovdahl hit a double to center field and Moxey followed with a triple to the right center gap.  Mitch Sparks finished the day throwing three and one third innings with three strikeouts, seven runs, and six walks. Beau Britton saw some action on the mound pitching two and two thirds innings with four strikeouts, one hit, and two walks. Paul Mudrow finished the game throwing three innings with four strikeouts and allowing one walk.    

The Lakers fall to 13-22 on the year and will finish the conference series with NIACC on Monday at 2 pm.
