Baseball Splits with Century

Estherville, IA- Iowa Lakes hosted the Woodducks from Century College today at Hess-Limberg field. Iowa Lakes split with the Woodducks winning game one 5-2 and losing game two 14-2.

Game one

The Lakers were lead on the mound by Devon Munter. Munter threw five innings giving up two runs off two home runs, two strikeouts, and four walks.

Joe Fitka was one for three on the day with a double to left center and a run scored. Ashtin Moxey was one for two with a single, a run scored, and a RBI. Spenser Larson lead the team in game one with two doubles, a run, and three RBIs

Zach Meyer came out of the pen in the sixth inning throwing a scoreless frame with two strikeouts.

Mitch Ebben closed out the game throwing one inning and striking out one.

Game two

The Woodducks ran game two from the start. Century scored in every inning of the five-inning game, plating six in the first, three in the second, two in the third, one in the fourth, and two in the fifth. Iowa Lakes only recorded one hit in the entire game. Moxey had a double in the second inning and later scored on an error.

The Lakers had five pitchers pitch including, starter Bransen Petersen (.2 innings and 6 runs), Trae "Rebel" Ramsey (1.1 innings and 3 runs), Paul Mudrow (2 innings, 3 runs, and one strikeout), Mark Bowen (.2 innings and 2 runs), and Dylan Klein (.1 innings and allowing one hit).

Iowa Lakes is now 14-25 on the season. The Lakers will travel to Kirkwood to play in a conference series this upcoming weekend.
