Community College on Saturday. Iowa Lakes won both games, winning game one in dramatic fashion with a walk-off from Sophomore Joe Fitka 6-5 and winning game two 14-13.

Game one

Ellsworth scored first in the second inning plating two runs on two singles and a walk from starter Drew Grubb. Mikey Adams helped the Lakers answer back quickly in the bottom half of the inning hitting his fourth homerun of the season to left center to tie up the game. BJ Johnson then deposited his second home run of the season over the left field fence driving in Ashtin Moxey giving Iowa Lakes the 3-1 lead. Th Panthers respond quickly adding two runs in the fourth on two walks, a double, and a single tying the game up at three. Later in the fifth inning, Iowa Lakes retakes the lead on an RBI sacrifice fly from Fitka. In the sixth inning, Moxey roped a double and later scored after Johnson laid down a bunt and the pitcher committed a throwing error. Grubb finished the day with six innings pitched, seven strikeouts, and allowing three earned runs. Ellsworth was not out yet as they scored two runs in the top of the seventh off reliever Zach Meyer. Heading to the bottom of the seventh, back to back walks from Bo Lovdahl and Tavan Shahidi allowed for Fitka to drive in Bo from second base for a walk-off single through the six hole and sealing the win.

Game two

Iowa Lakes took the lead early in the second inning when Adams drove in Shahidi with an RBI single to left field and making it 1-0. Ellsworth in the top of the third inning added two runs on two walks, a single, and an error. The Lakers answered back immediately plating four runs from Grant Becher reaching on an error, a slew of singles from Bo Lovdahl, Shahidi, and Fitka, and a two RBI double from Adams giving the Lakers a 5-2 lead. The Panthers stayed in the game scoring four runs after a strikeout advanced on wild pitch, a walk, two errors, and a three-run home run taking the lead back at 6-5. Bo Lovdahl didn't let Ellsworth have the lead long when came up in the bottom of the fourth and hit his 4^th home run on the year diving in Spenser Larson making it 7-6. Ellsworth answered back with a two-run home run of their own in the fifth retaking the lead at 8-7. The back and forth affair continued as Iowa Lakes plated three runs on three walks, two hit by pitches, and a double from Nick Lovdahl. Ellsworth then tied the game back up at ten with a solo home run in the sixth. Nick Lovdahl lead off the seventh inning with a double to right field followed by a walk and an error allowed for two runs to score before Shahidi drove in Bo Lovdahl with a single up the middle and giving the Lakers a 13-10 lead. Ellsworth was not out yet. Scoring three runs and tying up the game at 13 off three singles, a walk, and a double in the top of the eighth inning. With two outs and the game tied in the bottom of the eighth, Nick Lovdahl hit a bloop single to center field allowed Johnson to pinch hit and hit a single in the six hole. Becher was due up next when he was hit by the pitch and loaded up the bases for Larson. Larson worked the count and ended up walking causing Nick Lovdahl to score and giving the Lakers a 14-13 lead. Iowa Lakes allowed a lead-off single in the ninth and then retired the next three hitters to seal the victory at home.    

Iowa Lakes improves to 16-31 (3-17 ICCAC) and will be on the road all next week heading to Century College, Sioux Falls, and Iowa Central for the last eight games of the regular season.
