After 2 Great Days of Baseball Iowa Lakes CC - Baseball Falls Short to Fort Scott Community College

It was a prefect weekend to get baseball going at Fort Scott, Kansas. "Our student-athletes played very well after been sourrounded by four walls all winter. I see major improvements on this team, we do have to limit the small mistakes and we should be alright." Coach Acosta. Iowa Lakes Baseball next programed game is against Iowa Central at their new complex Tuesday March 7th. The following is a recap of our last four games.

Game 1 Friday March 3rd.

Fort Scott CC - Baseball Captures Lead Early to Defeat Iowa Lakes CC - Baseball

Iowa Lakes CC - Baseball fell behind early and couldn't come back in an 11-7 loss to Fort Scott CC -Baseball on Friday.  Fort Scott CC -Baseball scored on a single by Wilson and a home run by Nelson in the first inning. Despite the loss, Iowa Lakes CC - Baseball did collect 13 hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, Fort Scott CC -Baseball had 12 hits on the way to victory. Fort Scott CC -Baseball fired up the offense in the first inning.  Fort Scott CC -Baseball scored one run when Wilson singled. Iowa Lakes CC - Baseball put up four runs in the seventh inning.  Matt Torresan, Adam Moser, and Cesar Lam each had RBIs in the frame. Fort Scott CC -Baseball scored six runs in the sixth inning.  Long, Wilson,  Nelson, and Slott powered the big inning with RBIs. Phillips led the Fort Scott CC -Baseball to victory on the pitcher's mound. The bulldog lasted three and two-thirds innings, allowing four hits and one run while striking out three and walking one.  Mederios and Jett Feltman entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Christian Gonzalez toed the rubber for Iowa Lakes CC - Baseball. The righty allowed seven hits and five runs over four and a third innings, striking out four.  Alex Ramirez and Edil Gonzalez entered the game as relief, throwing one inning and two-thirds of an inning respectively. Iowa Lakes CC - Baseball smacked one home run on the day. Moser went deep in the second inning. Iowa Lakes CC - Baseball scattered 13 hits in the game.  Isaac Rogne, Moser, and Jose Colon all had multiple hits for Iowa Lakes CC - Baseball.  Moser and Rogne each collected three hits to lead Iowa Lakes CC - Baseball. Fort Scott CC -Baseball totaled 12 hits.  Wilson, Nelson, and Slott each managed multiple hits for Fort Scott CC -Baseball.

Game 2

Iowa Lakes CC - Baseball Falls to Fort Scott CC - Baseball  in Low-Scoring Affair Both teams were strong on the mound on Saturday, but Fort Scott CC - Baseball  was just a little bit stronger at the plate in a victory over Iowa Lakes CC - Baseball on Saturday. Hunter Neeley was the tough luck loser for Iowa Lakes CC - Baseball. In the first inning, Fort Scott CC - Baseball  got their offense started when Moreno drew a walk, scoring one run. Fort Scott CC - Baseball  pulled away for good with one run in the fourth inning.  In the fourth Wilkinson hit a solo homer. Smith pitched Fort Scott CC - Baseball  to victory. The ace surrendered zero runs on zero hits over two innings, striking out four and walking zero.  Johnson threw four innings in relief out of the bullpen.  Cooper recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Fort Scott CC - Baseball . Neeley took the loss for Iowa Lakes CC - Baseball. The lefty went four and a third innings, allowing two runs on three hits. Cooper started the game for Fort Scott CC - Baseball . Iowa Lakes CC - Baseball Falls to Fort Scott CC - Baseball After Sixth Inning Score Iowa Lakes CC - Baseball stayed in it until the end, but Fort Scott CC - Baseball pulled away late in an 8-6 victory on Saturday.  Fort Scott CC - Baseball was down 5-4 in the bottom of the sixth inning when Nelson homered on a 1-1 count, scoring four runs. Iowa Lakes CC - Baseball lost despite out-hitting Fort Scott CC - Baseball seven to six. Iowa Lakes CC - Baseball put up four runs in the fifth inning.  The rally was led by a walk by Alex Ramirez, a groundout by Isaac Rogne, an error on a ball put in play by Adam Moser, and a double by Jose Colon. Boenker was the winning pitcher for Fort Scott CC - Baseball. The ace allowed three hits and two runs over two and two-thirds innings, striking out three and walking zero. Diego Gonzalez took the loss for Iowa Lakes CC - Baseball. The lefty lasted one-third of an inning, allowing three hits and five runs while walking one. Brummund started the game for Fort Scott CC - Baseball. The bulldog allowed four hits and four runs over four and a third innings, striking out six Arnoldo Saenz started the game for Iowa Lakes CC - Baseball. Saenz surrendered one run on two hits over five innings, striking out three Iowa Lakes CC - Baseball tallied one home run on the day. Moser put one out in the seventh inning. Iowa Lakes CC - Baseball tallied seven hits.  Juan Martinez and Colon each had multiple hits for Iowa Lakes CC - Baseball.  Martinez led Iowa Lakes CC - Baseball with three hits in three at bats. One bright spot for Iowa Lakes CC - Baseball was a single by Akxel Soto in the third inning. Lous got the win for Fort Scott CC - Baseball. The ace lasted three and two-thirds innings, allowing one hit and zero runs while striking out four and walking one. Bryan Mojica took the loss for Iowa Lakes CC - Baseball.
