'04-'06 Softball

Samantha Rohr attended Iowa Lakes from ’04-’06, she will be going into the Hall of Fame for Softball.

Sam’s choice to attend Iowa Lakes was made due to her chance to play softball.

Leading all of the softball pitching records at Iowa Lakes, Sam was definitely a stand out. She holds the single season win record with 36, career wins with 62, career innings pitched 452, career strike outs 532, total games pitched 81, and career shut outs 28. She was a 2 time first team All- Region and All- American selection.

While at Iowa Lakes, Sam worked as an assistant trainer at the Athletic Training Center in Spirit Lake. During this time she met Levi Markwardt who helped her tremendously with encouragement in all of her endeavours. He helped her realize that her goals were not out of reach and was always helping her find new workouts to help strengthen her as an athlete.

Of course her teammates had a huge impact on her, but specific people that made an impression on her were head coach Mike Bosch, head trainer Kyle Norris and volleyball coach Scott Tschetter.

After Iowa Lakes, she attended and played softball at Minnesota State University- Mankato. Earning first team All North Central Conference, NCC Player of the Year, first team All-Region, 3 time NCC player of the week, and the Maverick achievement award.

She is now working at the Rockpoint Church as Nursery Coordinator.

Sam would like to thank her Dad and Mom for all of their support and willingness to learn for themselves in order to teach her.
