'93-'95 Men's Basketball

Tory Meiborg attended Iowa Lakes from ’93-’95, he will be going into the Hall of Fame for Men’s Basketball.

Tory chose Iowa Lakes because he trusted that Coach Grems would help him get a scholarship to a four year school after his time as a Laker.

He was very effective on the court earning second team All-Region and being named to the All-National tournament team as a freshman, and first team All-Region, first team All- American, and the Division II National Player of the Year as a sophomore.

The people that Tory met while at Iowa Lakes are what makes this place unforgettable for him. Linda Heldt, the Grems’, the Walz’s, the Wiley’s, the Moeller’s, Darryl and an entire list of others who made Estherville feel like home for Tory from the minute he arrived on campus.

Head Coach Bob Grems had the biggest impression on Tory. He was demanding, but was someone who he has a great deal of respect for. Linda Heldt also made an impact on Tory; she was his friend, work study boss, Estherville mom, and biggest supporter.

Other important figures in Tory’s career include his teammates- Antoine Morris, Marcus Owens and Brynjar Brynjarsson, head football coach- Courtney Mesinghamm and president Billings.

After earning his degree as a Laker, he accepted scholarship to North Dakota State University.

Currently Tory is the owner and president of World Trend Financial, a wealth management firm in Cedar Rapids and Iowa City.

He would like to thank his parents for traveling countless miles to watch his games and always believing in me and supporting me.
